[dunkelbunt] aka Ulf Lindemann settled in Vienna (Austria) in 2001, attracted by the electronic music scene. Inspired by Vienna’s musical mixture, he founded the Balkan Hotstep Club Night, featuring a vast range of musical styles, from Balkan traditionals to his own revisited themes. Ulf Lindemann extracts, subjoins and mixes with passion, creating and celebrating feasts for the senses with his varied musical landscapes and his famous oriental spice-mixtures….   In the last two years, [dunkelbunt] has recorded the album "Morgenlandstreicher", to be proudly released in 2007 on Chat  Chapeau. "Morgenlandstreicher" is a mix of Dub, Reggae, Bossa, Jazz, Electronics, Trip Hop and Break Beats woven with a Balkan twist. Numerous co-operations with both Viennese and international musicians from the Balkan and Klezmer scenes have enriched many of the tracks on the album, Namely performers like 5’nizza (UKR), Fanfare Ciocarlia (RO), Amsterdam Klezmer band (NE), Harry Stojka (A), Östblocket (S), MC Killo Killo (SER), Orient Expressions (TR) and many more.
